John Leslie was born in Sacramento, California, and graduated from the California State College, San Luis Obispo in 1967 with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. Later that year he started flight training with the US Navy and was designated as a Naval Aviator in February 1969. During his twenty years as a Naval Officer, John flew A-7E combat missions in Vietnam, attended the U.S. Navy Test Pilot School, and was the Commanding Officer of two Strike Fighter Squadrons flying the F/A-18 Hornet. As a civilian, John was an Experimental Test Pilot for the Grumman/Northrop Grumman Corporations flying the F-14D, A-6E, EA-6B, and the E-2C aircraft. While employed as a Test Pilot with Grumman, John earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Dowling College in Oakdale, New York.

The vice president shall, in the absence of the president, or his or her inability or refusal to act, perform the duties of the president, and when so acting, shall have the powers of, and be subject to all the restrictions upon, the president. The vice president shall perform such other duties as may be assigned to him or her by the president or the national board. The vice president shall, upon the death, resignation, or removal of the president, assume the position of the president for the remainder of his or her term.
Biography: Salvatore Joseph Sorrentino (nickname Sal) was born March 9, 1951 in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Long Island when he was 10 years old. Shortly after graduation from Valley Stream South High School Sal volunteered to serve his country in the United States Air Force. In November of 1969 he was sent to Chu-Lai in South Vietnam, about 50 miles south of Danang. Sal and his wife moved to Florida in July of 2016, and now reside in Elkton. They have 3 daughters & 4 grandchildren. For most of his life he worked in construction and building maintenance, also spending many years in management.
In his own words “I am proud to have served my country and now Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #1084 in any way possible. I am looking forward to doing the best job I can. In closing, along with the love I have for my wife, children, grandchildren, and God and Country, I also love playing golf. I will serve VVA Chapter #1084 with honor & respect to its members and our country.”

The treasurer shall give a bond for the faithful discharge of his or her duties in such sum and with such surety or sureties as the national board shall determine. He or she shall have charge and custody and be responsible for all funds and securities of the Corporation; receive and give receipts for moneys due and payable to the Corporation from any source whatsoever, and deposit all such moneys in the name of the Corporation in such banks, depositories, or trust companies as shall be selected by the national board ; and, in general, perform all duties incident to the office of treasurer, and such other duties as may be assigned to him or her by the national board.
